A person in my group looked up and gasped “look at those stars!!” Of course, we all stood up and rushed to the opening of trees at the shore of the island. I remember standing there, for what seemed to be an hour. No one speaking, just looking. Strangers, sharing a moment of pure beauty. It was then that I realized how incredibly lucky I was to be seeing such an amazing sight, with a group of people I knew shared the same excitement as me. My appreciation for nature is what sparked my interest for the environment.
