WIP!! (Crochet hook for scale)

It was going to be a blanket but then I realised I had somewhat unrealistic expectations of yardage from the generic brand yarn I'm using, so now it will be an approx. 90cm × 90cm throw/shawl.

I have yet to add borders to these to get them to 15 cm squares. I'm planning to use dark blue to disrupt the monochrome a bit and because I failed to buy enough warm colours. Hope that comes together cohesively.

How...do people finish things?? Today is my 12th day of making this (including gap days) and I feel myself subconsciously slowing down to avoid reaching the joining stage :/

If I had known I would have a lot more fun making the squares instead of what came after, I'd just have made one large granny lol

I'm just...so awfully in love with the individual squares and I feel that if I try to join them they'd get ruined somehow. This is not helped by the two terrible bright yellow squares which I'm forced to include for actually meeting the needed count.

A part of me just wants to say fuck it and use them as coasters or something, but unfortunately I don't use coasters or anything that small so it's either blanket/throw or keep them in storage forever. Ah well.
