I've spent nearly 6 solid hours sewing today (do not do this. especially if you have hypermobility issues.) aaand

quilt top complete!!!!!

going to spend tomorrow taking all the papers out of the edges and give it & the backing fabric a good press, then hopefully I can baste it on Friday morning!

making progress! 7/11 (well, really 12 if we include the white ones at the very bottom) rows done

laying it over the bed makes me more confident I'm not making it too small to be useful just so I can Get It Finished! looks like it'll roughly cover the top of a double bed, which sounds cosy size for a sofa blanket ^^

my dad is coming to visit in 14 weeks, and it'll be a few weeks after his 75th birthday, so I really want to have it done by then.

I've got 65 segments left to do, and i just timed the last 2 and they took about half an hour each.. plus the extra cream hexagons at the edges.. so I think about 40 hours til the top is done? hopefully! it's a less daunting number than I thought it was going to be. if I can add 2 a day it'll be done in less than 3 weeks...

have not decided if I want to machine or hand quilt it yet, I think hand quilting around each flower would look cuter than lines running through it, but I'll have to see how long it takes... (hopefully my sashiko practicing will have made me speedier)

I've got 53 segments done, which means I'm now over 1/3 of the way through my autumnquilt :D

got 30 of these segments made, which means i am 20% done!

Still not sure if I'm gonna lay them out in a more organised way or just randomly (think I like the random!), but can continue just making whichever calls to me for a while yet :)

also made a little portable sewing box to take on the train tomorrow

will i actually do any sewing? probably unlikely lol

(the weird little dark thing is a thimble made out of an old leather glove)
