The sight of two anxious-looking administrators huddled around a microphone is nothing out of the ordinary. It’s justified; fingers are chewed, necks are scratched, nervous glances are exchanged. But, for once, the BLU admin is the first to speak up, clearing his throat—and as per usual—improvising on the spot.
"Thank you t’everyone for getting all the correct paperwork in for the Easter break. N’by the way, I don’t appreciate the tree comments… yeah." A wary look seems to flash across the old BLU’s eyes, making no comment on his co-worker and his current state. This is no time for petty sulking, it’s time to put personal feelings aside and just say what needs to be said; so he takes a sharp breath in, speaking steadily and clearly the best he can.
“I ain’t gonna lie to you… we didn’t see this comin’ and it’s not my place t’say over who’s where n’what’s happened. All I know is that, now we have access to the power controls, we ain’t gonna be switchin’ this respawn off—f’ y’own safety.” A pause, stuttering starting to return also, as he leans his face into large palms. “I dunno wot happened, I dunno much… neither of us do. A-all I know is this Grey guy attacks from the back of RED base, n’oddly enough, with warning. They wanna drop a-a bomb onto the old generator. I don’t understand this Grey’s goal, but it’ll be interruptin’ your matches from now forth…”
He sighs, loudly, eyeing Cole through the small gap in his fingers which he now proceeds to peek through for the rest of the recording. “N’ Donaghue’s g-got inventive with y’weapons; so he’s asked Mr. Hale to upgrade said weapons, or allow for upgrades during the Mann Up missions p-provided t’ya. ‘Cos we did test some of the standard items n’they don’t even make a d-dent…” A pause. “You wanna expand on that, mate?”
Once distant, the eyes of RED’s admin settle straight ahead at nothing in particular. “…Right. I ain’t quite sure why exactly, but these bots drop cash whenever they’re destroyed. Bundles of notes, like a cartoon or somethin’. Bloody weird, I know. But you can keep whatever you want, or y’can spend it upgradin’ your weapons.”
The administrator falls into silence once more; the absurdity and enormity of the situation was taking its sweet time to sink in. “Of course, it depends on what weapon you’re usin’ as to what each upgrade… does. So say… I dunno, a rocket launcher. You can upgrade its projectile speed, blast radius, ammo capacity… medics, y’can upgrade how quickly your mediguns heal and how long Ubercharges—and speakin’ of medics, Jake’ll be talkin’ to you separately a little later.” He reluctantly turns to face the taller of the duo, in case he wasn’t aware. From the man’s reaction, he wasn’t.
“‘Course, you can just not bother and spend all the cash you get on luxuries… but I didn’t contact Mr. Hale personally so you could spend all of what you gain on bullshit. Keep that in mind.
…Look, I don’t want this either,” he sighs. “And maybe we could’ve been a wee bit more informative as to what the hell is goin’ on over here. But look on the bright side: you’re all on the same team now, metaphorically speakin’. You’ve a common enemy. Please, all I ask is that you put your grudges aside and defend this goddamn base.
On the subject of teams… colors… I was goin’ somewhere with that, but whatever. You’ll be pleased to know that Xander, BSN-120334, will be returnin’ to BLU. It ain’t just him; we got us a new Sniper, too. Not that it matters now, but I’d like to welcome RSN-865642, Mr. Dalton Smith, to RED. The helps’s appreciated, and I’m sure me team’s gonna be more than pleased t’see you.”
Whether or not he's actually finished doesn't seem to matter, but Jake seems to have decided that Cole has indeed finished, and immediately pipes up about the whole medic situation. Luckily, the RED administrator's hand seems quick to the button, cutting the feed with the panicked protest of Australian in the background.
Hopefully, a posted notice will be up soon enough... for that was quite a lot to take in, in one sitting.
Hello, hello! And goodness it's been a long ride, but, it's finally here. Yes, what you've all been waiting for and signed up for is finally here, welcome to MvM_Mountain-Lab! ... We'll think of something catchy in the meanwhile, but for now, please do check out what's happened over the past day with page updates. New rules have been added and pages moved about—not to mention a brand new about page over how this whole place works.
Please do check these out, as some new rules do apply to all members. They have been updated to suit the FAQ we've had coming through, and should ensure none of the situations happen again. Don't stress all too much on this, we are very nice, but we'd rather clear a few things up and learn from past errors.
All in all, it'll be a slow build up from here. Not all too much will happen until summer break (or anything major anyway). Just stay posted every fortnight for an IC update, and bi-monthly for the major stuff. The next one should fall just before exams, so don't count on anything major coming into play for that one.
Good luck as always; hope you're all doing well!
