top five moments of 2014 go go go

in a time-sequential order:

1)rose parade

    my band did the rose parade this year, its six miles long and we had to march and play and spin for all six miles of it. it was one of the best experiences of my life and im so happy i got to kick off the year by doing something so awesome

2)when i got accepted into mandarins

    i knew i wanted to do drum corps more than anything in the world and i started to go to the spin club camps mandarins held, that was really what made me need to do it. my first camp was in april and i got an alternate spot. at home i tried and tried to improve. then at my next camp, my caption head gave me drill so i wasnt gonna question it. i had a spot. that was one of the best and scariest feelings ive had haha

3)mandarins lucas oil

    ohmygod i remember at our last housing site we were running the third movement and the flag line had a shit ton of vocals. so instead of saying the ‘real’ vocals i would just spit out LUCAS OIL and freak out for a second. i was pushing so hard and i know everyone around me was too. thats when it fully came to me that, holy crap, im doing drum corps. im doing this awesome amazing thing. i get to go perform in lucas freaking oil stadium

4)when i took my before and after pictures

    after i got home from tour i had that post-tour depression for a long time actually, but i remember going through my pictures and seeing my before picture. immediately i went to the bathroom and took my after picture and ~holy shit~ i looked awesome. since then, ive gained back a little puff but hey thats life, right? 

5)yesterday i cut a christmas tree in the forest with my parents and our car got stuck in the snow and we had to dig it out together

    this probably sounds cheesy but we were driving through the mountains for about an hour and a half and it felt like we were never going to find a fuckin tree. finally we came upon a split in the road and we decided to turn around. but the snow was too deep and our car got stuck in the snow. we tried to push the car at first but it was just hella stuck so we had to literally DIG the car out. like push and kick the snow out of the way lol. THEN, about 500 feet from where we got stuck, there was a beautiful lovely tree. so after we got unstuck and were on out way back down the mountain, we passed that tree and cut it down. idk i have really cool parents im really lucky that i have them
