Can you rec some blangst fics please?
Here’s a few of my favorites :)
The Needle And The Damage Done After the breakup all Blaine wants to do it forget. In his desperation to escape his own self loathing he goes down an extremely dangerous path. (Drug addict Blaine; also has 78 chapters of related drabbles here)
You Don’t Know Me Blaine starts at McKinley only to meet someone who won’t put up with his attitude (badboy!blaine and omg the plot twist in the 5th chapter is amazing!)
Carry Your Shame Kurt’s spent his entire life being pushed around and ignored. He’s never had a single friend until he met Blaine Anderson, a swimmer for the National Team and McKinley’s Golden Boy. When the boys fall for each other, Kurt has to learn the hard way that there are some things even love can’t fix—like the fact that his step-brother and boyfriend are mortal enemies. (Slow build but lots of angsty twists and turns to keep you interested.)
Also dreamingkate’s “blangst” tag is a rabbit hole of drabbles I find myself getting lost in often, so you could check that out. Enjoy!
Hi there, do you have any recommendations for klaine fics that involve mental illnesses, like depression? Thanks!
Oh my gosh that is my guilty pleasure au so this is gonna be a long one.
De-pres-sion: He dreams of waves, of water, crashing over him, consuming him. He dreams of falling down, being pulled down, and looking up to see those people he thinks used to be his friends. (Depressed!kurt; takes place in s3.)
It’s Always Darkest Before The Dawn: Dalton is not an asylum. It’s a hospital. It’s Blaine’s home. And calling it a psych ward is a bit presumptuous, he thinks. It gives people the wrong idea. He’s not crazy. Not really. He’s just…sad. (Klaine meets at Dalton; a mental hospital. Depressed!klaine and suicidal!kurt.)
One Good Day: Kurt and Blaine broke up before Kurt went to New York. The five years since then have been grinding Blaine down and it finally breaks him. He decides to kill himself, but when he’s got everything organized, he realizes he wants just one good day to take with him. A day with Kurt. (depressed!blaine)
Soon Enough: Blaine moves to New York after graduation. There are steps forward, and steps back, but Kurt knows they’re getting there.(depressed!blaine)
All those above are really long oneshots, now for real fics.
Bulimic Blaine ‘Verse: The author deleted her tumblr, but the link will take you to all her oneshots on ff.net. In order the chapters you’ll find the ‘verse in are 14,16,26,39,45,46,47,51, and 57. Truly one of my favorite blangst fics ever. (There is a part 10 and 11 to this ‘verse, but no one can find them anywhere.)
Wrong: Blaine gets really depressed in his senior year, with Kurt away in NY, and tries to take his life. Heavy angst with a happy(ish?) ending. (This has everything you’re looking for in a depression fic.)
Hope you enjoy! (Please read trigger warnings; I can’t stress that enough.)
Have you ever read a klaine fic that has made you cry? If so, what was it?
Only this one and that’s because there’s so much angst (please read trigger warnings)
Welcome To Dalton Academy, Kurt (ff.net)
Kurt is driven to extreme measures when his life at McKinley spirals out of control. A couple of months into his junior year, he transfers to Dalton Academy where he befriends a group of boys who refuse to let him be the victim and teach him how to love himself once more. (has many scenes/flashbacks of sexual abuse and rape, but truly a beautiful story about learning to trust again)
