it was a trace off this piece (that has a gag version on raseinn’s pixiv too) that i saw at avcon
i actually got really angry once ‘cause the first time i went to avcon i saw an artist stall that had a lot of traced art for sale that were copies off old pixiv art including some old eeveelutions art raseinn made that i recognised but i was too scared to say anything + sensory overload that made everything not fun
The Storyteller | AVCon 2014
This is one of my proudest costuming achievements ever, and it wasn’t a costume for me. I’d already finished my Espella Cantabella cosplay three weeks before starting on The Storyteller, which took around a month to put together.
A joint effort between myself and PassingSorrow. I did most of the sewing and pattern drafting, and he made the book, mask, bow and did the wig styling…and painted all of the (dreaded) purple diamonds onto the robe.
Oh those diamonds. There are so many diamonds in the costume designs for PL vs AA. And that standing collar. And those sleeves. I had so much fun making this costume.

My Cosplay @ AVCon 2014
This year was my third AVCon and my first time cosplaying. Over a decade's worth of Halloweens as well as some theater experience was enough to teach me that I love a good excuse to wear a costume.
I'd wanted to try cosplaying for a convention for a while now. I've had quite a few ideas for it, most of them height related (Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist, Kafei from Majora's Mask). Unfortunately procrastination and a necessity to stay thrifty limited my options a bit.
I decided on a costume that let me use things I already had, namely my Ezlo hat that I bought last convention and my green dress. All I needed would be a belt, white stockings, and brown boots, and I'd be a passable Minish Cap Link!
Naturally I picked the shortest version of Link to cosplay as. I'm really happy with how the costume came out. Future iterations will likely see the addition of Power Bracelets and Pegasus Boots, and eventually a dress that matches the green of the hat better.
Regardless, I had a great Sunday wandering around at the convention. A couple people asked to take my photo, including the absolutely lovely Sarah Kay, a local photographer!
I had such a lovely cosplaying experience. I hope I get the opportunity to cosplay Minish Cap Link again soon, as well as to try out the other ideas I have. If you have any cosplay tips, be sure to let me know!

So after the con weekend, I was left to reflect on the time I had, and although I really enjoyed the time I spent with blue, I was left feeling mildly uncomfortable about a couple of topics in regards to cosplay. First off, the absolutely ridiculous amount of abuse I got from one young lady over the fact that I used blush and painted on freckles for my cosplay. Yes, you read that right. I had one person complain to me for about 5 minutes that my cosplay was not "canon". I had not spoken to this person AT ALL. She literally came up to me JUST to complain. Now, I do understand and accept that my cosplay was not entirely canon because of the makeup aspect of it. But I worked REALLY REALLY hard on that cosplay!!! I spent at least $50 on the makeup ALONE!!! I spent hours doing both mine and Connor's makeup!!! Not to mention the amount of other extremely non-canon cosplays, which are still really cool and stand out because of the non-canon aspects!!! But then she went on to talk about how "troll's skin is too thick for that to be canon".... That alone is not a canon, that is a headcanon. She was proving her arguments, WITH. A. HEADCANON. Anyway, I digress. The next point that left me feeling really uncomfortable was the fact that not even an hour into the con, I had someone smack me on the ass with their cosplay weapon. Now, I don't care whether it did not hurt, this was in front of my partner, and it made me incredibly uncomfortable. Alas, I did not speak up at the time, not wanting to ruin the mood. But regardless, this was someone who I was standing in line with, who I had not spoken with for more than 10 minutes. Anyway that's my bluh but other than that it was a really good time!!! Basically moral of the story is don't be a dick to people in cosplay who you don't know because that's mean! uwu
