avecpardonplaysminecraft I sketched this last night when I was thinking about dictator Savoy and I decided that my squidling OC, Nate is Savoys self appointed bodyguard. Savoy doesn't really mind, as long as Nate still gets his work done and stuff idk.
So, I kinda sorta maybe wrote a fic for AvecPardon's TC AU that I've been obsessed with recently... I'm really sorry if I got Avec wrong or anything, I tried my best and I hope you like it! ^^'
Hunting for recruits.
Sky crouched down behind a tree, grinning slightly as he waited for his target to appear. He was alone this time, as Deadlox had refused to accompany him and TrueMU was currently doing a recording with Jason in control. He leant back against the tree trunk and closed his eyes as he waited, finding that it was easier to focus on the sounds around him when he did that. Of course, having his eyes closed also reminded him how tired he was and he had to keep opening them every few minutes to stop himself from falling asleep.
Finally though, just as he was (unintentionally) falling into a light doze, the grass nearby rustled as someone or something stepped on it. He jerked up and peered cautiously around the tree trunk, his suspicious glare melting into a wide grin as he eyes alighted on the figure standing in the shade of a spruce tree and scribbling furiously into a notebook.
“Finally.” He breathed, shifting so that he would be in a better position to tackle the author once he got closer. The figure took a few steps forward, mumbling under his breath as he wrote, his attention fixated on the little book on his hand. Sky tensed, ready to leap out and grab his target, his grin widening, if that was even possible. Just as he was gearing himself up for the pounce though, the authors head jerked up, looking around like he had heard something. Sky cursed under his breath and held his position, hoping his target would relax and go back to writing but alas, luck was against him as he watched the author tuck his book and quill into a hidden pocket before turning and vanishing back into the thick undergrowth.
“Dammit!” Sky growled, launching himself after his target, hoping that he would still manage to tackle and pin him but ended up just hitting the trunk of the spruce tree Avec had been hiding under. “Owww~” He whined, sitting back and rubbing his forehead where it had smacked into the tree.
“That was smart.” Someone behind him commented, a hint of amusement in their voice. Sky spun around and spotted Deadlox, leaning against a tree not too far away with a smirk gracing his features. “How’s your hunt going?”
“Horrible.” Sky grumbled, standing up and pushing his sunglasses back up the bridge of his nose. “I nearly had him but something spooked him and he bolted. He’s like a cat or something.” Deadlox chuckled, uncrossing his arms and straightening up.
“Do you wanna head back to the SkyHub then? Since you’re obviously not doing anything productive here.” The brunette offered, gesturing with his hand in the general direction of the SkyHub. Sky huffed but nodded.
“Alright, but when we get back, you have to play Hide ‘N Seek with me.” He demanded, swiping a hand to open his command bar and type in a teleport command.
“Alright, meet you there.” Deadlox nodded, crossing his arms again and tapping his foot in a nervous manner. Sky frowned and opened his mouth to ask his best friend what his problem was but was cut off by his command taking effect and whisking him off to the SkyHub. Once he had solidified back in the SkyHub, he looked around for his companion, frowning when he was nowhere in sight and spinning on his heel to see if he had spawned in behind him.
“Deadlox?” He called, starting to get a little worried. What if Deadlox had been kidnapped by the squids again? Or even worse... by Him? “Deadlox!” He called again, starting to panic.
“What?” The oh-so-familiar voice sounded behind him and Sky spun around again, his eyes immediately zeroing in on the brunette before him.
“Deadlox!” he said again, although his voice was more relieved rather than panicked this time. Deadlox gave a short nod, taking a bite of the butter apple in his hand.
“That’s my name. What do you want Sky? Did you give up on chasing that recruit finally?” He quizzed, leaning against the doorframe lazily.
“Where did you go?! I thought you were TPing with me!” Sky demanded. Deadlox gave him a confused look.
“I’ve been here the whole time.” He defended himself, his voice muffled somewhat by the chunk of apple he was chewing.
“Liar! I was just talking to you out in the forest!” Sky protested, crossing his arms. “Remember? You said we should come back here and play Hide ‘N Seek.” Deadlox shook his head slowly.
“Naw man, I’ve been here all day. Even ask Bodil, he was with me the whole time.” Deadlox rolled his visible eye. “You must’ve been imagining things. How much sleep have you had these past few days?”
“I’m not imaging things! I was talking to you right after Avec disa- oh no.” The realisation of what happened hit Sky at that moment and he groaned. “For the love of Notch! He tricked me!” He tugged on his hair as he let out another frustrated whine. “I let him get away again!” Deadlox watched in amusement as Sky whined and complained, finishing off his apple and brushing his hands off on his pants.
“Well, if you’re finished moaning, I’m gonna go back and help Bodil with his map.” He called over his shoulder, already heading back down the hallway to the room where the mapmaker waited. His only response was a thud and a whine as Sky kicked the wall and immediately regretted it. Man, sometimes he had to really hand it to Avec; he certainly knew how to drive the Butter King mad.
