"Connolly!" Avery called out when she saw Eagan, though her smile faded when she saw the healing wounds on her face. "What the fuck happened to you? Who did this?" She was immediately taken back to their childhood, standing up to bullies on Eagan's behalf, getting into fights to protect them. She knew she didn't have the physical strength that she did back then, but she sure as hell could try to beat up whoever hurt Eagan like this.

Avery looked more closely after the person spoke, her eyes widening as she realized who it was. Without thinking, she dropped the water bottle, letting it roll down the steps, as she launched herself at Eagan, throwing her arms around their neck as tightly as she could as the tears started to flow.

"I-I can't believe you're here. How are you here?" she asked tearfully, wondering if she was hallucinating.
