I’ve seen this bullshit scam/phishing attempt happening a lot lately and some people actually think its real. If someone text you this, please block them! Its literally word for word the same, i’ve got this like 5 times now. This account to avoid is @sevetrethy. Stay safe!

This situation has unfortunately happened to me recently and I wanted to warn others of this situation.

The screenshots reveal a conversation where someone mistakenly reported another user's Tumblr account for fraudulent activity after being misled by a phishing scam.

This unfortunate situation, combined with a fake support message and demands for "account verification," highlights several red flags and important lessons for Tumblr users aiming to stay secure.

Recognizing Tumblr Scams

A common feature of Tumblr scams is the use of phishing tactics. Scammers might send out messages that appear to be from Tumblr support or trustworthy users, urging you to click on suspicious links or share sensitive information, such as your account credentials. In the shared screenshots, the scammer exploited trust by impersonating Tumblr’s security team, using official-sounding language and presenting a fabricated "Support Ticket."
