James hated going out to drink, he was very much a stay at home with a couple friend and have a few beers kind of guy, but his friends for the most part were not those kind of people. They liked to go out, pick up girls, bar hop, the whole thing. Trey and Mason had long left the table to flirt with the many women sitting at the bar and Max had just left to go home. Home, though, was a place that James did not want to go. His marriage was getting worse by the day, no matter what he did to try and change things they just got worse. Ellie was the only reason he stayed. He was terrified that in a divorce he’d lose his daughter. And he knew that he would, with his band he was gone for a good chunk of the time and you can’t just bring a two year old to a pop punk show.
He shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts, his eyes catching on a woman at the bar. Next to her was a man that James could tell was flirting with her but she seemed uninterested, the more he watched the more he realized that she was more than just uninterested. She was uncomfortable. Finishing off his drink, he decided to help her out.
“Hey doll,” He said to her, throwing his arm over the back of her chair. “I’m so sorry I’m late. Work was a bitch.” James tried his best to convey to her in a look what he was doing without alerting the other man to it. “Who’s you’re friend?”
