“Just a-” Glass of red wine, a lot weaker than his usual go to. Whiskey or bourbon, something expensive, was always in one hand and a cigarette in the other while he was here. But he was trying to cut back on the hard stuff for at least the moment. The last thing he needed was alcohol dependency issues and moderation was the goal at this point. Lucian mentally referred to it as ‘socialite drinking’, more for aesthetic purposes, to pretend everything was fine. It was hard to do that though when he was leaning on the bar and looking at Rowan Bordeaux. The one brother he skirted around beyond pleasantries, the one he was lucky didn’t give him any trouble. It was his own fault, the embarrassment that he didn’t want to acknowledge, the elephant in the room with them. Rowan was a nice guy, in the actual sense, he wasn’t like Casper or Noah, he came off like a seemingly normal guy and he’d known that right away, he’d asked around about him (about all of them, actually) and he’d seemed the least dangerous in terms of risk assessment.
“Glass of red wine.” There was no getting out of it now though and he took a seat at the bar, looked to the original behind it and tried not to think about how much of a close call that night had been. The night he’d been a dumb twenty-one year old full of overconfidence trying to prove as trustworthy as possible. What better way to seal a business deal than to get bitten by a vampire? An original seemed a safe choice, would have the most control, Rowan had been an ideal candidate. But it hadn’t happened and now he hadn’t really seen him since the snowstorm and even then, that’d been a brief interaction. “How’ve you been?” There wasn’t any harm in small talk though, he could handle that. @rcwanbcrdeaux
