Axel has had a rather neutral life; it was rather balanced. You see, Axel is adopted. He had grown up without a mother, as his “mother” had passed away before he could meet her. His father, John River, 43, had adopted him when he was of a young age.
His father was an ex- Auror, who had been through quite a lot, until he settled down after his wife had passed. He chose to adopt Axel, by accident actually. Axel had been found and left in a muggle orphanage, just at the corner block of where John had been taking classes in crafting as a new hobby. Axel just happened to be running away from a group of bullies who were throwing small pebbles and stones at him. He took refuge behind a trash can, as they continued their abuse. This was when John quickly came to the cowering child’s defence. He then proceeded to buy him ice- cream and ask him a bunch of questions, discovering the child was a lot more outspoken than he seemed. When he was discovered to be an orphan due to his “strange” abilities. John, whom had come to adore the young child based on their one conversation, had decided there and then on a whim, to adopt him. John saw it as fate and Axel could not have been any happier.
His father was quite the Charms expert and had taught him the best of Charms. Though he struggled with the magic, he was intrigued and wanted to learn more. He graduated from Hogwarts with fairly decent grades, Charms being his favourite class, next to Transfiguration. When Axel was accepted to Hogwarts, his father had decided to open a Charmed Accessory Shop. Whenever he returned from Hogwarts, they would sit by a fire and enjoy each others company; he loved hearing stories about his father’s days at work as he always made them sound so interesting and vice versa.
By the time he graduated, Axel decided he would give back to his father and assist him in the shop, bringing new ideas by charming jewellery as well as many other household objects. Though his father resented the idea, as he wanted him to go on and accept the Auror position he was offered. Axel agreed, only to please his father but after 3 years of working with the Auror, he decided that it just wasn’t for him. He was stubborn and there was nothing more John could say or do but agree as he only wanted his son to be happy. Even saying so, he had only one condition, that was that he would be his business partner instead of an assistant. He happily agreed and that’s where he spends most of his life now, in the shop working with his father. Though her father secretly wishes that he would go out and mingle more with society.
