I've been playing with using a pen plotter to draw pictures that I generate using Midjourney. Pretty fun so far, looking forward to doing more.

A pen plotter is kinda like a cnc router except it holds pens and can draw pictures. You feed it paths, basically an SVG image that only contains lines and curves. I'll post some fun stuff about Algorithms for generating plots like this from pictures.

The video above compares the most popular pen plotter on the market, the AxiDraw V3/A3 against the iDraw A3 by UUNA TEK. Both pen plotters have the same drawing area and use InkScape and the same plugin extension to communicate with the pen plotters.

the magician; before she was scanned and edited into the final product, she looked a bit like this — made with an Axidraw pen-plotter, artbreeder, and many long hours in Adobe Illustrator making .svg files for each individual layer. Those layers are then plugged into Axidraw-compatible software and the machine does the heavy lifting (well, drawing), I need only swap out writing utensils and reconfigure a few settings in-between each layer. Fresh print + detail from her first scan w/ color corrections applied.
