and also kudos to me for not getting super scared that both my mom and her husband were in awful angry moods
also kudos to them for not losing their shit at each other or me i feel like that's a wonderful thing
#grew up with explosive violent anger in the house and it can be hard to not become a prey animal once i sense anger in them#tbf the violence usually came from my dad and he's NOTTT my mom's husband he's actually a different guy and i dont see him ever#thank god#unrelated note my mom used to work at a religious daycare so she'd have to lead little prayers before lunchtime nothing serious cause these#kids were like 3 years old#but like at the end they all say amen ofc. but these kids did it really weird in their little kid way and would enunciate it very strongly#like aaaaaaaaayyyyyyy MEN#lately i've found myself saying it like that and im not religious but sometimes it's fun to punctuate a thought with an aaaayyyy MEN#so everyone in the house had an appropriate reaction to their feelings and didn't let it spiral into a huge blowout. that's what's up#ayyyyyy MEN
