[[ There weren’t too many people who would take a look at Charlie and think, yeah, that guy could really benefit from additional training. They’d be largely correct; strength and stamina had obviously been prioritized in his creation, even if those came at the detriment of aspects like dexterity or stealth. Or nuance. Charlie was built like a Mack truck and exactly as subtle.
The thing is, Charlie likes training. It gives him a chance to blow off some steam and an outlet for the varying degrees of stress he’s been under lately, the current and most glaring being that Ricky’s been avoiding him for the past few days which, tangentially, means he won’t have the chance to blow off steam in a different sort of way at the party tonight.
It’s fine, he’d told himself multiple times that morning, and the disappointment has been resolutely pushed aside for the sake of Saturday’s Torren-focused training. Charlie’s been appreciating these more than the garden variety AP sessions, seeing as it gives the typically singular Torrens a chance to work on solidarity in the field. Charlie is almost obnoxiously in favor of this, recognizing that there was a lot in the teamwork of small groups that helped propel them to the almost-win of the first Games of the season.
Charlie showed up to the pitch mid-afternoon with every intention of singling out JR per Alex’s advice/request (and avoiding Kaiser like the plague) when those intentions are interrupted. There’s another new face besides Charlotte, who he’d helped settle in earlier -- and this, obviously, is cause enough for Charlie’s over-sociable nature to take the wheel. He approaches the stranger with an easy smile and offered hand. ]]
Hey -- didn’t realize we had more than one addition to Torren today. [[ Charlie assumes he must not be NWRF, as Charlotte was, or he would’ve been notified. That doesn’t hinder his enthusiasm of introduction. ]] The more the merrier, right? I’m Charlie, Charlie Essex.
