“Cuddle butt,” Bokuto said, wrapping his arms tighter around you as his face nuzzled against your neck, the scruff scratching at your soft skin.
The giggle that escaped your lips only widened his smile. “You are not calling me ‘Cuddle butt’ Kou, absolutely not.”
His smile only grew as he kissed your lips sweetly. “Fine, not ‘Cuddle butt’. Pumpkin?”
“I’m not a vegetable!” you laughed, hearty and from the chest.
“Aren’t they technically a fruit?” he mused, a slightly confused look on his face.
“Not the point Kou,” you teased with a grin. He countered it with one of his own, leaning in for another soft peck and pulling away before you could get more from him.
“Dove? Kitten? Puppy? Bunny?” he tried in rapid succession.
“I am not an animal,” you giggled, poking his nose sweetly and rubbing your hands up and down his back.
“Angel?” he mused, voice getting more and more defeated as you turned down each new nickname he tried on.
Cupping both of his cheeks in your hands, you guided his face to yours, capturing his lips in a more passionate kiss. When you pulled back, you were breathing a little heavier and the smile was back on his lips.
“Fine, I guess we’ll just stick with our usuals, my love,” he pouted. “My love, light of my life, keeper of my heart. I’m definitely calling you “Dumpling” now though.”
Your loud laugh rang through the room as the conversation continued, the quiet and still of the night penetrated by the happy sounds of a couple in love, laughing and just enjoying being with one another.
