I’m not sure what the hell is happening here, but I know when and where - it’s the shooting of “El Cid” in Spain, of course (the final battle, most probably, ‘cause it takes place on a beach). The horse is one of the ‘Babiecas’ - two white studs Yakima Canutt had brought from Yugoslavia, “identical in appearance (magnificent) and temperament (terrible),” as Chuck Heston described them in his work journal. But why the horse is in costume and Chuck is not?..
