Hey! I was just wondering what your roleplay was about. I was interested in how well put together it is. I'm researching roleplay for some help towards making my own :D
oh sure! it's been quite a while so idk if I remember all the details and the original site we used is lost to the void but uh
it was a long form play-by-post rp on a custom forum site, so we had like, one main thread for the game itself but other threads for speculation, art, maps, status updates, & other out of character stuff. since it's a danganronpa game there's a lot of hidden information to manage, so i would keep track of players' backgrounds & secret actions, and coordinate with other players it was relevant to as necessary
in terms of the actual story it was honestly a pretty straightforward retelling of DR1's premise with everyone's OCs trapped in hope's peak (we weren't as inventive about it as a lot of other RPs at the time, and this predated most fangans and stuff so there wasn't much precedent. i WAS thinking about running a second game in a locked down airport but that kind of required finishing the first one). the actual Big Reveals we had planned were much less DR-like and involved the "mastermind" character being a pawn of a much larger organization that had placed all the kids in the game to "punish" them for various Secret Backstory Reasons They Lost Their Memories Of
unfortunately this whole thing never quite actually went anywhere - activity kind of fell off right before the first death would have happened, oops. like i wish i had more to say about everything but most of the rp is hypothetical story content in my head we never got to play out. there WAS a loose plan for how each case would play out and a rough idea of the backstory but none of it's super concrete (and a friend and I have actually revisited these characters a few times and reworked things, but mostly for our own personal stuff and not any further roleplaying. i adapated aimee into a ttrpg character once, which was fun)
if we seem organized i think it's more that we put a ton of effort into making art, maps, report cards, sprites, etc, to make the rp feel more "official" but there wasn't actually a ton of rp to speak of 😔 if i WERE to do something like this again i'd want to run it via discord or something, since it's a lot more accessible and easy to reply quickly in. we had trouble keeping the momentum going and that's what killed it :')
i know this is kind of a non-answer but uh. hope it helps. godspeed
