How do you get personalities so well? I feel like I always mess personalities up when I write. Any advice?

I think it really depends on who you’re writing! if it’s an original character, you gotta have a good base of who they are/how they operate in order to create consistency and a sense of the person. if it’s fan fic, then try to imagine what the character is saying and/or doing. would the person do that? go back, watch videos. is what you wrote how’d they say what they’re saying?? if it sounds phony to you, it’ll sound phony to your reader. I also try not to force things. Like no matter how much I want a character to be lovey dovey and cute in a certain moment, they may not actually be like that, so I don’t write it that way. I hope that makes sense.

I haven’t met them irl because no one lives in korea lol but I got a few of them that I call on the phone super often and I text a decent amount daily
