Back to Origin (My 1st Preaching)
This is my outline to my first preaching, "BACK TO ORIGIN". This is our practicum in School of Leaders.
BACK TO ORIGIN
Objective: -To realize that we need to way back our life to God. -To value the Salvation of God that leads us to our origin (To God). -To picture-out the life offered by God (eternal and abundant life)
Introduction: Parisian Life Painting is one of the famous paintings displayed at GSIS Museum. It is originally painted by Filipino Artist, Juan Luna. This painting was bought by former president of GSIS Winston Garcia from Christie’s Auction House in Hongkong in Oct. 2002 for the price of $870,000 (46 million pesos). At that time many people questioning why they waste money only for the painting. Do you think it is worth it? For me, Yes. Why? Because it is our property, it is part of our History and it is painted by our own Artist. We have a right because it is ours.
For God, He sacrificed His and only Son to redeem us to the enemy so that we can back to promised land that God already prepared for us.
Key Verse: -Ezekiel 37:21 “I will take the Israelites out of the Nations when they have gone, I will gather from all around and bring them back into their own land.”
Corresponding Biblical Foundations: John 8:34 Isaiah 59:2 Romans 5:8 Ephesians 1:7 Deuteronomy 28:15 John 14:6 John 6:63 John 14:26 2 Corinthians 8:9
A. Slavery from Sin All of us are slavery from all kinds of bondages, “Jesus replied, ‘I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.” (John 8:34) God has a perfect plan for us since He created all the things here on earth. But everything is change when sin started to ruin our life. We are dead not in physical but in spiritual because we are separated from God because of our sins, “But your iniquities have separated from you, so that he will not hear.” (Isaiah 59:2)
B. Redemption Because we are slave from sin, we are under control of evil. It is like a picture of “kidnap for ransom.” Because God loved us so much and there was no one here on earth are able to pay the price to ransom us from our sins, God sent His one and only Son to do it, delivering us from eternal condemnation. “But God demonstrate his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”- Romans 5:8 “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace”- Ephesians 1:7
C. Healing from God Because of being slave from sin, we are dead in Spiritual not only on that because even our physical may suffer to all types of sickness and deformities once we disobey the Lord,“However, if you do not obey the Lord your God and do not carefully follow all his commands and decrees, I am giving you today, all these curses will come upon you and overtake you.”(Deut. 28:15) But God did not want it to happen to us because He loved us and He wants us to be with Him eternally and have an abundant life. In what way? Through accepting His Son Jesus Christ. Because through faith to Christ, the Lord imparts life, deliverance and even inner healing. And remember that only Jesus is the bridge that ways back to our origin and that is to our Father in Heaven, “I am the way the truth and the life, nobody comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
1. Word of God as Vitamins “The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are Spirit and Life.”- John 6:63 --Word of God represents as the multivitamins of our Spiritual Life so that we can avoid for every temptation of the enemy. So it is important to have a consistent devotional life. 2. Holy Spirit as Doctor “But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name will teach you all the things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”- John 14:26 --He is the one who help us to understand the Word of God through consulting Him everyday through our prayers.
D. Abundant Life God want us to back our life to the origin. A life that separate from sin and to have an abundant life. Abundant life is the life that God offer to us when we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that through he was rich, yet for your sake he become poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.” (2 Cor. 8:9)
Conclusion: At the beginning, God has a good plan for us. He prepares everything for us, but because of the sin, everything changes. But still, because of God’s love, He wants us to be with him eternally. He sacrifices His one and only Son to redeem and to save us under the control of evil. Life here on earth is temporary even our life. But once we accept Jesus we are already welcome to our true home, our land and that is the Kingdom in Heaven.
Application: God loves us so as a leader, I need to help those people having any connection with Him. To help them to realize that the life we’ve experience here on earth are temporary and there is a way to experience the eternal life—and that is through Jesus.
