The Exotic Allure of the Island of Bali
When you find yourself facing the gray cold of winter or contemplating a work day in front of a broken air conditioner, you need to make a change. The doldrums can creep up on you at any time of the year and when they hit you are likely to suffer a decrease in motivation and a slump in your attitude. Even if there are plenty of reasons to love the places where you live and work, you need a break now and then. For an escape, backpacking Bali and its wonderfully exotic environs is just the thing.
Bali is home to beautiful geography, a rich ecology, and vibrant culture. If you’d like a bit of adventure during your break away from the ordinary, then head to Indonesia and the variety of experiences that Bali has to offer.
As you backpack through the rich forested island, you may be able to catch glimpses of wildlife, such as the monkeys of Monkey Forest, rhinos, and tigers. Some of those animals have become very comfortable around humans and won’t hesitate to come closer for a friendly visit. Make sure that you have plenty of room on your memory card for all of the pictures.
Do you enjoy snorkeling or scuba diving? Maybe you’ll take a day away from backpacking Bali in order to visit one of the beaches. After delving into the wildlife of the forest, you can get up close to turtles, fish, colorful coral, and maybe even a barracuda.
In between your hikes through the mountains, visiting volcanoes, and enjoying spectacular views, you will mingle with the people of Bali. The Balinese are friendly and welcoming to visitors and may entertain you with stories and cultural experiences. You can check out the neighborhood markets, visit local dining spots, and truly enjoy the full culture on an exotic island.
If you do not have backpacking Bali on your bucket list, then you need to revise that list. This is an experience that you will cherish for the rest of your life.
