how do people write more than drabbles

how do people make themselves write, sequentially? in order? one event after the other?

every time I outline a story, I end up losing any and all desire to actually write the dang thing

so then I won't do an outline but then I just end up hopping around all over the plot flitting from one scene to another wherever the wind takes me

how do people not do that ? ? ? ?

i know the answer is discipline, shhhh

Maybe I find it hard to understand people not doing a good job at easy things because they're actually not easy things and I only think of them as easy things because I refuse to acknowledge that they're things that are actually hard but I can't say that because then it would mean my difficulty in doing them isn't because I am bad at things it's because those things are actually difficult but whatever yes I'll manage the call center.
