i greatly appreciate the drabble, it was lovely seeing honey stand up to the bad person, but what i had in mind was an adoptee who really knows how to leave a good first impression, no obvious tells (no aggressive grabbing), would be respectful of boundaries and act like all they want is a companion, and if that works and they get the lamia home Then they show their true colors. i can't ask you to rewrite the drabble but i am still curious if that kind of person would slip past the shop filters?
*I’m glad you enjoyed the drabble. As requested, I set it up similarly to a lamia matchup. If someone wanted to adopt a lamia bitty for abuse or experimentation purposes, the best choice would, of course, be a Krait. I’ve been in the mood to write about Honey lately, so of course the story ended up being a bit Honey-centric. I also enjoy the “bad person receives comeuppance” trope.
*I’ve written a few stories and adoptions featuring lamia bittybones who have come from abusive and neglectful homes, and though I could easily explain that away by saying they were adopted elsewhere, it would make more sense to think that some creeps are just charming enough not to get caught. People always seem to be shocked to find their mild-mannered neighbor or coworker is a serial killer, after all.
*Even with Vex, Edgar, and Waffle keeping watch, bad owner adoptions do happen. If the person adopted the right lamia bitty or bitties (ones that are unlikely to run away and can’t teleport such as Krait or Papython), they would probably get away with it as well.
