How does the image your character tries to project differ from the image they actually project?

omg. 

so zeus has worked very hard to be BETTER; in everything he does. better king, better father, better PERSON. he tries hard to make others see that part of him, because he hates who he was, he hates being hated. and he works hard to be the opposite of the cruel, paranoid, unjust man he had once been. he tries to make himself seem more like the god of justice that he is.

however, he can still revert to some of his bad habits. he gets angry easily, he can be brash, he can be a little childish when he’s upset. and people see that. they see him as a guy who can be an asshole BUT STILL IS BETTER THAN HE ONCE WAS. that’s the important part.

What would your character make a scene in public about?

zeus is ALL about appearances. especially now; while before, he had to ensure that people feared and/or respected him, now he just needs people to have faith that he is in fact a good king. therefore, the likelihood of him making a scene about ANYTHING is very slim. however, alongside that is not allowing people to disrespect him. so if someone should say something horrible or disrespectful about him or his company while out in public, then he would be sure to call them out on it. not necessarily a scene, but he would definitely make sure that people around him knew that what had just happened was NOT okay. he’d likely just address it angrily and speak a little louder, but it would never be something dramatic and ridiculous. that’s for when he’s alone with someone.

leo valdez was, without a doubt, a very noisy and OBNOXIOUS drunk. two shots in, he was getting handsy. four shots in, he’d latched on to travis and wouldn’t let go, and was singing along to the music at the bar a fair bit too loudly-- right in travis’s ear. 

leo valdez was also a lightweight.

although travis didn’t mind. LOUD was just a part of who leo was, drunk or not. and he had to admit, all the physical contact was nice after a few weeks apart; a business opportunity for the son of hephaestus, somewhere on the east coast. travis had missed him, and their friends had taken them out for drinks upon leo’s return. 

as the night progressed, and travis cut leo off after the sixth shot turned into twerking, hazel and frank decided to call it a night, and percy and annabeth had snuck off back to the car for a quickie-- leaving leo, piper, jason and travis alone at the bar. piper couldn’t stop giggling at her friend as leo unlatched himself from travis and began to stroke jason’s hair. 

with an amused smile, travis gripped his partner’s hand and gave it a squeeze. “i think i’m gonna get think punk out of here. talk to you guys tomorrow?”

jason gave a relieved nod and piper laughed again, downing another shot. “--see ya!”

travis led leo back to their car, tucking him in to the passenger seat with a blanket. leo gave him a slobbery kiss on the cheek and travis only laughed as he got into the driver’s side. he’d opted not to drink that night for one sole reason: the mess to his right.

“you gotta take it easy, leo. you’re gonna make jason go FULL son of jupiter on you if you keep feeling him up.” travis stated with a chuckle. 

“i don’ care ‘bout jay. you’re tha’ man for me!”

“that’s nice, leo.”

“yeah-- i wanna get MARRIED to you!”

travis’ eyes widened as he pulled out of the parking lot. before he managed to say anything, leo was snoring in his seat. travis sighed-- leo was drunk. that didn’t mean anything. 

but he couldn’t help but think of the possibilities as he drove them back home to their flat. married-- yeah, wouldn’t that be nice.
