"Church of the Ball Jar” ~ By Kristen Reitz-Green
Canning Season by Dirty Annie
I have Balls. In fact I have boxes of them. Did I say boxes? I meant boxers.

Yes, they ridiculously upcharge the beautiful "vintage-style" colored Ball jars. But I love them, I love them. I saw some rose-pink ones recently, and in my heart I am yearning. There are 'decorative only' knock-offs available that are not real canning jars, but I actually USE these for canning, so those are not ok.
Pink.

I was having a rough day a couple months ago, so I went for a little hike to cheer myself up. And in an area where plenty of people go, right out in the open between some trees, I found this jar nestled among the leaves and moss. Which I took as a good sign, since I love mason jars.
So now I'm packing to move, and I'm debating opening and cleaning so it can become Useful. Continue to fulfill its purpose as a canning jar and all that. I don't really need any more decorative jars. But there's also a chance someone sealed a demon in this jar 50 years ago and left it in the woods - it's empty, and sealed still! - and I don't want to get into that.
