I've installed a site-specific camera obscura at Ballarat Observatory as part of the Ballarat International Foto Biennale. And it's open from today! The work is part of the group exhibition A Field Guide to the Stars, curated by Rebecca Najdowski. 🌑🌘🌗🌖🌕🌒🌓🌔 Ballarat Observatory is located on Wadawurrung Country. The camera obscura installation is in the café building at the Observatory. The building is an accessible building with a ramp leading into the building and no stairs once inside. The official launch of the exhibition is next weekend on Saturday 26 August 4-7pm. Please arrive early to get the most out the camera obscura - it's dependent on sunlight! ☀️ I will be on hand to discuss the work and can also conduct tactile tours and a vocal description of the space if required. A Field Guide to the Stars. Curated by Rebecca Najdowski. Featuring the work of Clare Benson, Alex Cherney, Kate Golding, Rebecca Najdowski, Kate Robertson, Hillary Wiedemann, Eric William Carroll.
