I am a proud band alumnus tonight. All the bands did so well today! Round-Up and Stetsons have my love forever and ever and ever. ^_^

Trying to kill time before the concert starts, but all I seem to be able to do is feel sad that the marching band competition isn't being held in the Saddledome again this year. I mean....it was flooded last year, so of course they couldn't do it then. No one could do anything in the dome for a while. But this year? I can't help but feel that the authorities on such things are using last year as a precedent to keep them. "It worked last year, why not use the outdoor field again?" They don't care that it'll hurt the bands. They won't get as much of a crowd when the Stampede grounds aren't next door. They'll be even more at the mercy of the weather. I guess years of performing and attracting crowds means nothing. Spreading a love of music and awareness of a unique performance style means nothing. Loyalty means nothing. Nothing hurts more than realizing how little people care.
