Hello, How are you? I made myself a banner and I don't know how to put it on can you tell me please?
So glad you came to me with this question. The first step is to lie the banner down on the ground with the forward-facing face pointed groundward. As nearly as possible (consulting a compass or sundial, if one is present), orient the starboard edge in a southerly direction, with the after corner pointed directly south. This is the optimal starting position.
Next, procure between 50 and 70 rolls of Scotch tape. Starting with one roll, unwind the tape entirely, lying it sheer side groundward. It is of utmost importance that the tape remain in this position. To this end, it might be advisable to use one of the other rolls of tape to tape the first roll of tape to the floor. Once this has been done, take a knife or, failing that, a metal ruler with a remarkably straight edge, and scrape the gummed end of the tape. If done properly, some of the gumming or tar will stick to your knife or ruler. Collect this gumming with a nail file and store it in a beaker. Continue in this manner until you’ve degummed the full length of the Scotch tape. Repeat this step, being sure to collect as much gumming as possible each time (to save money on your Scotch tape budget), until you’ve collected three quarters of a liter of gumming.
Please note that with the gumming in hand, haste is urged, as it’s not likely to keep its consistency for too long. As quickly as possible, using the flattened end of a spatula, or, failing that, a laminated playbill, lather the rear-facing face of the banner with gumming. Start at the port edge of the banner moving towards the starboard edge in boustrophedon style (i.e. from forward to aft and then from aft forward, and so forth). Once the rear-facing face is completely gummed, you’re ready to move on to the next step.
Of course, before starting you should have selected your wall location. Doing so at this stage would prove disastrous, as the gumming will have dried. For banner positioning, I’d need to write up an entirely separate set of instructions. If the positioning isn’t set, though, one would do better to find an entirely new abode, so be sure that you are absolutely certain of your positioning.
Anyway, with the gumming still tarrish, place the northern corner of the banner on the appropriate corner of the mounting surface and flatten the banner in a southerly manner, again proceeding in boustrophedon fashion.
Given the consistency and nature of the gumming, the banner will not stick to the wall for long, so, again, I urge haste with this next step. With the banner semi-affixed, procure your nail gun and nail the corners of the banner to the wall in this order: east, west, south, north. (And, of course, at all times refer to the original orientation of the banner when it was on the ground in determining the cardinal directions of the corners.) It is, of course, assumed that you’ll have your nail gun within arm’s reach. Indeed, it would be disastrous if you didn’t, as you might have to start the whole procedure over again.
With this accomplished, you may now, using your nail gun, add any other number of nails to the banner, ensuring that it will not fall.
