Okay so what youve gotta understand first is theyre all traumatixed bitches. Quackity's love life and real life is constantly in shambles, Puffy can't stop getting caught up in scary shit with her fighting words and Niki is. Uh. Gestures a crumbling mess of barely held together teeth and skin

I really think of them as "cpuffy has two hands". Quackity and Puffy I think get along bc they both have demons in their past they're trying to pretend they've killed but cover it up with jokes and bits. Doing dumb bits together is what gets them to know each other in the first place, and eventually leads them to slowly open up to each other about things they'd not let their guards down for for other people.

Puffy and Niki, obviously, had their relationship in canon. I think they were really drawn to each other for stability- Puffy scrabbling for reality when beset upon by both past amnesia and the egg's influence, Niki desperate for any sense of a Place to find home in. It falls apart in canon, but I think Puffy gets a greater understanding of how Niki pulls away from people who don't hold on by starting to know Quackity, who does the same after the fiances leave him. And she works to keep Niki, to build a life, to fight for a stable little snowglobe of a life within the chaos they both have surrounding them.

Niki and Quackity don't really get along. They've been adjacent strangers for their entire history on the server. But they understand a past Puffy doesn't, understand each other in too many ways. And they're happy to fill in the gaps Puffy can't, in her relationships with them. For her.

Its shaky, rehomed dog devotion- its dirty jokes told over a flour disaster in the kitchen- its 'I've been the one baying for blood' its 'ive been hurt too many times' its 'i choose to be alone and i want to never be left behind again but maybe i can live alone alongside you'. It's righteous vengeance taking hold into callous cruelty, its I forgive you for the blood you've spilt. The infinite fires you've sown. We can laugh at the cloud that looks weirdly like a penis. Lets do that together instead of worrying about the past
