"i don't begin to understand politics." he never has, never had the mind for it. he's glad of that, really. he doesn't want to ever truly understand the mind of a politician. "but it's the people who make the change, not a single politician."

he nudges cole's shoulder with his own, a gentle touch. "we can make change happen, can't we, cole? or am i being too optimistic about the world?" he wants to make change, wants to better the world they all live in. is that too much to hope for?

“get in.” she stole this beautiful pontiac firebird and she will cry when she must strip it for parts later. it glistens cherry red, and will be lovingly cared for by a mechanic she trusts. in pieces. poor thing. right now, her brown eyes sparkle sparkle when she leans to push the door open. she leans on the steering wheel, tilts her enormous black sunglasses down, “we’re going somewhere cool.” @clawsextended

it's stolen, of course it is. but baptiste has gotten used to these things with selina, and he takes it in stride the best he can. still, he doesn't expect her the moment he walks outside with the beautiful car and a plan in mind.

he doesn't even hesitant — he gets right inside, hands running over the dash almost immediately. "not asking where you got this." the less he knows the better. he grins at her, settling into the seat, clicking the seatbelt in across his chest. "what's the plan, lina? what are we getting up to today?"

they got separated pretty early on, which isn't all that surprising. mauga has a tendency to do what he wants when he wants to without much regard for plans or the people around him. baptiste is used to it though, usually able to find mauga again with a general ease — he just follows the sounds of gunfire and explosions.

as he looks for mauga, he mostly keeps to the shadows, avoiding enemies and preferring to stay out of sight. the less he has to engage the better.

he puts his hand over mauga's mouth once he finds him, knowing there are still enemies around. he doesn't need his friend's big mouth to give them away quite yet. "solid plan," he tells mauga, but his eyes fall to the wound in the other man's arm. "before we go through with it, let me take care of that."

as baptiste kneels down and begins to sort through his bag, grabbing the materials he needs, he says, "i thought i told you to avoid their bullets."

@zheurgeist has a blind date with baptiste!

maybe axe throwing isn't necessarily the best first date in the world, especially with someone he's never met before, but at least it's fun. it's a little out of the box for the whole blind date thing, but he's really enjoying himself. honestly, he can't really tell if zev is too, but she's doing a lot better than he is. it surprises him in the best way.

baptiste tends to be more on the romantic side with dates, but when it's with someone completely unknown to him, he wants to have a little fun with it.

as he sips on a bottle of beer at the small bartop provided to them, watching his date make surprisingly accurate throws, he can't help but be impressed by it all. "you know your way around an axe," he says as she rejoins him, bright grin on his lips.

baptiste looks to him, throws him a small smile. "i think it's the whole feeling alive thing that's important." he can't say he's ever felt the same, both alive and dead at the same time. not really. while he was still on the run from talon, it made him feel like a dead man walking, but he was very much alive. and ethan? ethan's alive, but... not. it's a complicated thing, one that baptiste can't really wrap his head around, even after extensive research and knowing ethan.

"focus on feeling alive, ethan." fingers come to touch ethan's arm, lingering there for a short moment.

leaning against the counter, arms loosely crossed over his chest, baptiste watches the other man with a quiet impressiveness. he knows that tahno is capable of a lot of things, and he always did make a nice mixed drink, but something about the way he's doing it this time is something that baptiste finds himself impressed by.

it's also a little hot.

"and you kept this talent from me this whole time?" baptiste offers the other man a crooked grin, before leaning slightly forward to get a better look at what he's mixing. "what are you making anyway? that color is amazing."
