Going for Gold
Filipinos are claimed to be high-dreamers. If there’s one thing I like about being a Filipino, it is that we are known for fantasizing about something and working hard to attain it. You may ask yourself, how do they do it? Well, it is knowing what you want to achieve. Filipinos indulge in reverie and will do anything to pursue it and to live in a world they tend to be in. Just consider the successful Filipinos all over the Philippines. Most of them came from a poor family. They did everything and never gave up. That is being goal-oriented. Goal- orientedness is one of the Filipino traits that shows how Filipinos work hard to achieve their goals.
One way to know how they’ll be able to reach their goals is when they know from the very start what they want to become or what they want to attain. Ever since they were young they already know what they want. They can see their parents and idols doing well in what they do, and they aim to be like them. It’s part of the Filipino culture where parents tell their children what they should and shouldn’t do. They now have an idea and make them want to strive more.
Next, they seek inspiration and boost in reaching that goal. When they want something, they go and get it because they are inspired and they have a positive view on everything. Filipinos are more likely to encounter problems such as financial problems, and they make their families their inspiration and motivation.
Lastly, discipline, hard work and determination are a must. I have heard someone say, “Align your dreams with your talents. If you think you don’t have a talent, that’s when hard work comes”. Nothing comes easy. Thus, Filipinos are patient, and they never give up. They put their focus and attention into it. That’s why a lot of average and well-known Filipinos are successful.
Therefore, it is something that we should continue to embody. Reaching goals is not as easy as it seems. Despite the bumpy roads we have to pass through and no matter how many times we fail, we must keep moving and if you’re at the peak of giving up, always remember why you started it in the first place. Hence, goal-orientedness is one of the Filipino traits that exemplifies how hard-working Filipinos are to achieve their goals.
