I know that one... maybe it wasn't them, but someone referred to him as something other than his normal titles because of his birth. and I'm- I'm positive it began with a D.

Journal Entry 101:

Ja’far…honestly I am envious of him. He is much more helpful and worth more to Sinbad than I am. He is an scholar, household member, expert fighter in assassination, good mannered, and the thing that I envythe most a politian. He can understand politics and help SIn in areas that I can only dream about ever understanding. I see Sinbad relying on him more and more and I want to be in his place. I want Sin to rely on me and ask me for help. It hurts. However, I know that this is just my own selfish ambition and needs. Ja’far has been nothing but kind, patient, and understanding with me. He had helped me in dark moments and never judges me or my past. He is a brother to me and I love him a lot, but…no one is perfect. So I will hide this truth from everyone to keep the relationship we have because If I lost it…I don’t know if I could continue living.

As per his usual tradition - though he generally makes a note not to get involved in things like this - Ja'far leaves a box of assorted chocolates for Masrur to find in his room later.

Masrur walks in just as Ja’far had managed to get out of his room and was heading down the other hallway. The Fanalis went into his room and picked up the box of chocolates…”Ja’far…you didn’t need to do this.” He smiles as he puts a piece of chocolate in his mouth. So good. He could never make anything that good. He had long given up on that, but he had a plan. He already made a statue out of metal that he bend with his own hands that spelled out “Thank you ♥.” He had already left it in the advisors office.
