Thoroughbred trainer Barclay Tagg delivered himself of this gem this week while talking about protesters in Louisville: “ All I know is you’re not allowed to shoot them and they’re allowed to shoot you, that’s what it looks like to me.”

What an idiot. And he’s the trainer of everybody’s feel-good story who is also a deservedly overwhelming favourite for the Derby - Tiz the Law. It sort of takes some of the joy of Derby Day away to hear casual racism spewed so easily.
