More trinkets for my bard board! The new black and purple bracelet is from the lovely @letbuckyeathisgoddamnplums who sent it to me as part of a fun little exchange! I hope mine arrives there quickly ✨️
Also included is the coin tossed to me from some cosplay friends who spotted me at Pheonix Fan Fusion! We met this year at the ren faire and now we're besties 💚
#bardbesties y'all. And Geralt. Their stage performance was so perfect guys. They did the voices SO well.
My new favorite trinket on the bard board; a birthday present from my trip to England from the one and only @samstree! Thank you once again for the most perfect pin. I'm obsessed!
Here's a picture of the collection for your "friend" lol. It's not really anything too questionable, but my dad also likes the Witcher and glances at my merch occasionally and ... well, I don't want to think how uncomfortable he'd be if he knew I shipped Geralt and Jaskier.
Small rant under the cut. Not exactly tw homophobia, but mildly, I guess. And religious stuff mentioned. Ignore if you just want to admire my sweet merch collection.
On my dad: he's already grumbled about how many gay people there are in the witcher show(s). He's not homophobic; like he's fine with my whole deal and his best friend is gay and married, but he doesn't engage in queer media, really. I think he's of the opinion that having more than one gay pairing in a piece of media is political or pandering. His parents are pretty conservative and religious and he's LEAGUES better than them, but it gives you an idea of how he started out. They weren't so much the "gay people are sinners and doomed to hell" flavor of homophobic so much as the "marriage is between a man and a woman, so gay people should call their thing something else" kind. I just try to stay as visibly neutral as possible so I'm not really forcing them to think about it too much.
Ironically, despite being thoroughly out (and recently outed) to my whole extended family, I keep my pride flags folded up in a drawer in a dresser in my closet. I'm accepted, but I worry about expressing it more than just by existing.
All that aside, my mother has a history of teasing me for my interests, so now nobody knows what I like best in regards to ANYTHING. It's taken me six years to even start decorating my room with little things, like my bard pin board, and that's just because she moved out. My dad doesn't judge as much, and he never teases. My mom cyber stalked me--downloaded Tumblr just to follow my blog once when I was 17. I deleted everything and built from the ground up. She sent terrible teenage fanfic to family friends without telling me. I've been very quiet about how I spend my free time since. Watching shows with my dad is one of the few ways I can really connect with the one parent I like. I don't want to jeopardize that in any way.
I almost bolted from the room when Jaskier and Radovid kissed. The room was very very quiet.
I had the pleasure of merchandising this beautiful little store located in Creemore, ON called Mumba over the holidays. Founded by artist and designer Brenda Brown, Mumba is a one of a kind rustic little haven where you can find everything from artwork, unique home accents, to custom barnboard & other wood furnishings. The vibe is cozy, warm and welcoming. With that being said, I absolutely loved…
