Midnight hissed at the huge wolf. He was far larger than Midnight had been expecting, but he was determined to show him who was boss. Moony bared his teeth at Midnight and lunged forward, attempting to snap at the little cat. Quick as a flash, Midnight’s claws were out, and Moony was stumbling back, his paws covering his muzzle and whimpering. Prongs snorted at him, one of his hooves nudging his side. Fine, maybe he shouldn’t have attacked the big, deadly werewolf, but he started it anyway. What was Midnight supposed to do? Prongs nudged him again, and Midnight moved towards the still-whimpering wolf, grumbling to himself.
Moony gave another low growl when he spotted Midnight approaching, and Padfoot tried to put himself between them, but Midnight just walked under his legs.
He lay down on his belly in front of Moony. He stretched his neck and let his tiny nose touch the wide, black wolf nose. Moony huffed at him, but didn’t react any further. A truce had been found. Midnight purred and snuggled up against the grey wolf. So far, so good. Next up was Evan.
As the sound of the little fox’s feet clacked against the top step, Midnight moved from Moony’s side and onto his back. The wolf looked up at him before turning his attention to Evan.
The fox approached, and Moony began a low growl again. Midnight could feel the vibrations running through him. He walked along Moony’s back and bit him on the ear. Moony yelped, but he stopped growling. Evan approached again, and this time, Moony let him, greeting him before ignoring him entirely. Midnight purred and rubbed his head against the hurt ear. He gave it a lick for good measure and waited for Dorcas to make her appearance. Then there was only Pandora and Barty. He doubted Pandora would have any problems, but Barty might be a problem.
Midnight settled down on Moony’s back again and waited.
