Midnight Chillin' to ... Mendelssohn's Sea Cave
The Hebrides (Fingal's Cave) - Overture by Felix Mendelssohn
I heard part of this on WRR 101.1 last week while on the commute home and really liked it. So I did more research on this pretty piece.
Music inspired by a sea cave in Scotland. And it's still there! With gorgeous pictures to see! That's amazing. I like blue waters and natural wonders, and this piece was a pretty picture of the cave, with the sea waves going through it.

And the basaltic columns are fascinating. "How To Train Your Dragon" (movie) actually has basaltic columns as one of its landscapes, which I had never seen before until I heard the Hebrides Overture and research the inspiration.
