Sure! We’re having a little Battle for the Angst Crown right now and you’re certainly welcome to get in on it. Here’s the post for Round One (and the death rules are a little iffy for a zombie AU, just don’t kill Danny or Arin, that’s all I’m going with for this round). You have until the 8th to write for this one, but the second round starts on the 9th and the whole thing will be going on for almost all of July!

ok we getting back to kid grumps? let's go so maybe a little later in that timeline like Dan's maybe in 7th or 8th grade and he's been dating this girl for awhile and they break up for some reason (I'll let you decide) and Arin finds Dan like upset or crying or something and he gangs everyone up and is like "What do we do? This is Dan's thing!" sorry I'm such an angst machine

oooooh even angstier teen Danny. Well if Danny’s so upset he’s crying about it, it was probably a pretty intense breakup. Like maybe the girl cheated on him or something? Or at least dumped him just to blatantly and immediately replace him with someone “better.”

I love the idea that literally no one knows how to make people feel better except for Danny wow. So they try all the stuff that makes them feel better and don’t really think about what would make Danny feel better. (oh my god, I just realized, if Danny is an eighth grader, that means most of the other ones are 6th graders oh my god they’re all angsty teens.) But yeah, it turns out the thing that makes Danny feel better is just the fact that they’re trying awww cheesy, I know.

ok I've got some AC au angst so get your panties ready So like Dan finds Holly crying or something in her room when she thought everyone had left for work and so he walks up to her and is like "What's wrong?" And she just starts sobbing about all this Nook debt and shit and how she's so stressed out and Dan's super shocked cus she was the person who always seemed so happy and hopeful

But this, this right here, is literally the entire reason that Danny goes “you know what, Nook is full of shit and I’m not gonna stand for it anymore.” It’s not that he doesn’t care about his other friends, of course he does, but Holly is so pure and friendly and always sees the good in people. It’s like taking a bunny and smashing it into the pavement (I’m so sorry for that imagery by the way).

This is why Danny starts the rebellion--because he can’st stand to see Holly cry.

He can talk, he just chooses not to because he doesn’t really feel like being loud and outspoken or anything! He basically uses his siblings as ‘translators’ where he whispers into their ears and they relay whatever message he’s trying to put out there. He’s just a quiet kid that doesn’t really like to talk, that’s all!
