Full Count (Part 10 of Curve Ball)
Summary: An accidental collision. Lucky shoes. Baseball lessons. As much as they might try to deny it, fate seemed to be working to bring Derek and Y/N together. But being in each other’s lives could prove to be more complicated than either one of them bargained for.
Author’s Note: So, I’ve had this done for awhile. Then I moved, started work, left for a nine day trip...and realized I forgot to post this! I’m sorry this is unbelievably delayed, I am The Worst. But it is finally here and I’m so very excited to share this with you! Please let me know what you think :)
As always, a HUGE thank you to my co-pilot on this series, @snipsnsnailsnwerewolftales!!! She is so amazing to work with and always such great ideas!!! I can’t even say thanks enough <3

Being back was weird.
Getting into the habit of going to classes again, figuring out my new schedule for the semester (plus finding all the new buildings), and trying to start doing homework again…it was weird. My body had been on sleep and relaxation mode for the last few weeks over break, so even getting up in the mornings to get ready was a struggle. But there was a bright side: seeing my friends again.
Stiles and I had texted pretty much every day, even coordinating movie viewing parties from miles away. By the time break was over, I think I had burnt Uncle Chris out on Star Wars so bad that he couldn’t even stand to hear the titles. Seeing Scott again was great, too. And spending time with Lydia, something I had severely slacked on last semester, was amazing. She and I had sat for hours catching up the night we came back, finally retiring to bed once the clock hit an obscene hour.
They say there's no such thing as fate. But after a run in (literally) with one Derek Hale at a party one of your first days on campus leaves you soaked in beer, flat on your face, and head over heels for those green eyes that caused it, (again, literally) you find yourself questioning whether fate really does exist, and if so, will she be kind, or will she leave your life in ruin?
Read the whole series (thus far) here!
Thank you, as always, to my lovely co-conspirator on this project @snipsnsnailsnwerewolftales!

“Lord of the Rings. Movie weekend. Kicking off the semester,” he said, hands waving about. “Did you get any of that?”
“Uh…I got LOTR and that’s about it,” I admitted. “Sorry Stiles. I’ve had some…stuff…on my mind.” The look in my best friend’s eyes told me he most likely knew to what I was referring, but he decided to not push, something I was really grateful for.
“My room, this weekend. We’ll start off a new semester with a new set of movies! Are you free? I mean, I’m assuming you are so I expect you to be there, I’m just asking out of courtesy.” Giving him a playful elbow in the ribs, I smiled and agreed to attend, much to Stiles’ delight.
“I have a meeting with Professor Yukimura Friday after class, but I’ll come straight over after that.”
“Perfect! Alright, this is my stop,” he sighed as we approached a split in the sidewalk. “I will see you Friday night then. Also,” Stiles paused, moving to stand in front of me. His face got about as serious as his could before he spoke again, this time much softer. “I know the you-know-who stuff sucks, but it’ll get better with time. Okay? You know I’m here for you.” My cheeks heated up just the slightest, but I smiled at the brown-eyed boy in front of me.
“Thanks, Stiles. Really.”
“Anytime.” With that, he clapped his hand- his right hand- on my shoulder and gave a goofy grin. “Plus, I could give him a stern talking to at baseball practice once it starts up next week. Take my trusty bat and pull him to the side…”
“Slow down there, killer,” I laughed. “No need for all that.”
“Just putting the offer out there,” he replied, beginning to walk backwards. “See you Friday!” And with that, he turned around and was off.
I know, Alli, you really like Stiles. I do, too.

“Y/N? Are you even listening to me?” Stiles’ voice broke me out of my stare and I slowly turned my head to look at him, eyes wide and lips sucked between my teeth as I grunted out a ‘hm?’ He blinked at me several times before averting his gaze to the spot I was so tethered to only moment ago.
“Sorry,” I sighed. “I’ve just been...distracted.”
“I’ll say,” he snorts, earning a glare. “What’s up with you lately?”
“Nothing, I’m fine.”

Catch Up Here
*******************************************************************************************Tossing my phone on my bed, I grabbed my bathroom bag and headed to the bathroom down the hall.
Smiling as I recounted my day, I let the hot water wash away the embarrassment, leaving only memories of laughter and good times.
My mind drifted back to the start of the day, the comment about my shoes, and against my will, I was suddenly going on a trip down memory lane.
Allison was more than just a cousin. She was a sister.
After everything that happened with dad, Chris practically became my stand in father, which to be honest, wasn't much of a change from his role of doting uncle.
He had rolled his eyes good naturedly when Allison and I had come running up to him, matching sets of black converse in our hands.
“I know they’re expensive-” Allison started, her voice going into a somewhat guilty, yet begging tone.
“But they are buy one, get one half off-” I finished for her, mimicking her tone to a t.
“And we thought, ‘waste not, want not’-”
“And we definitely want these-”
“So we came up with a solution.”
Chris must have had whiplash from snapping his head back and forth between the two of us. “And that would be….” It was more of a question than anything, but he sounded resigned, as if he already knew where it was going, which he probably did.
Allison and I looked at each other before looking back to him, grinning madly. “We buy them!”
