In the south we don't get much snow. Being born and raised in northeastern PA the majority of my life I kind of like not having to shovel my driveway out anymore. Or the electric going out in the middle of a snowstorm. Or the absolutely mess of slush, snow, and ice chunks that tend to invade the land after a snow fall. Here on the coast of NC we haven't had much snow in the past three and a half years. Last winter there was maybe a sprinkling and that's it. Monday it was short sleeve weather, Tuesday through Thursday the military base on which we live was closed down due to the conditions. Friday is supposed to be fifty plus degree weather, but I doubt that will occur. Honestly it's hit or miss with the weather here. We get more rain than anything so if you move to coastal NC I would say invest in rain coats and umbrellas for your kids. It gets wet here! On another note, my almost two year old daughter got to experience snow for the first time. She thought it was cool and did not want to come back inside. I only went out to get the mail since my husband and the mail box lock do not get along at all. Hopefully we will get to have some more snow days in the future but with the way global warming is occurring it is looking less likely. Right now I'm just grateful to not have to dig my car out of a huge driveway while freezing my booty off. Sorry to the folks up north that have to dig, defrost, and reheat their frost bitten fingers, toes, and nose!
