Okay so going back to payload types.

First of all, there's either staged payloads or...not staged (singles)

Staged payloads come in two types:

Stagers

Stages

A stager is usually how you connect to a client. Common ways are reverse TCP and bind TCP. Reverse TCP happens when the client initiates a connection. Bind TCP happens when I initiate the connection.

A stage is what way you're connected to a client. Common ways for this is through the meterpreter shell and through a regular shell, like bash.
