Authors Note
This fic is heavily influenced by one of my favourite books. The entire premise of the novel is academia, which is described as a literal hell. Though I’m not doing a PhD and there are inherently some aspects of the novel of which I can not relate to, I found the academic pressure, competition, and corruption something very relevant especially to my experiences. I was also hoping to capture the fundamental problems within academia, but also the justice system - particularly in Japan. My interests are far from being connected to anything relating to law, so there will be a few discrepancies in information and experience within law school (I daresay it will be highly based on Legally Blonde). Before I start, I would like to add some content warnings, as this is a work of fiction that contains mentions of violence, criminality, sexuality, corruption (such as in the form of power abuse), and academia (which is a trigger warning in its own right). I’ll add notes before the chapters before anything else shows up and also in the tags. Thank you for reading, and from this I hope we can all develop a deeper appreciation for hot, sorcerer lawyer(s).
