OCtober days 3 and 4: Bastion and Evangeline
So now that I beat Nier Automata time for 10 beat games of all time for me
Rule one game per series. Honorable mention: Kindred Spirits on the Roof amazing story but it’s a VN 10. Civ V yes this game was initially not amazing with Brave New World it got amazing with tons of mod support. I put hundreds of hours into it and hope mods get good enough for VI for me to do the same. Also fuck Ghandi 9. Dragon Age Origins: while sequels haven’t been as good, the original stands as a masterful story about love politics and cynical war. While not as action packed as the sequels and friendly fire turned on for some reason, the story and characters make up for any short comings. 8. Nier Automata: wanting to limit it to one Platinum game was hard but Nier has all the fun of Bayonetta with tons of crushing depression. Enjoying excellent sword fighting along side questioning your own existence is a feeling you won’t soon forget. 7. Bastion (no not that one): many games are told in medias res but how many have their story narrated in real time, that’s Bastion’s gimmick and it works so goddamn well. The gameplay is a ton of fun along with an amazing story and that narrator and soundtrack like melted butter. 6. Chrono Trigger: the oldest game on this list, this simple yet effective story changed how we play games with New game plus multiple endings and that excellent soundtrack. Even the combat is great being one of the few rpgs that turn based works great for even today. 5. Xcom 2: this game is like the ultimate strategy game. With hundreds of mods, great enemy design, interesting concept, and extreme difficulty (we all save scum don’t lie) I am so glad this game exists and if you play it you will be too.
4. Witcher 3: this world was near perfect. Geralt was an amazing protagonist who clearly cared for others but was willing to be selfish when need be. His relationship with Ciri allowed for great game breaks. And of course Gwent. A card game that spawned its own game. Amazing game and amazing dlcs. Hell Blood and Wine is longer than most games these days. 3. Overwatch: I admit I love the game but I only sunk 70 hours into it but this game got me into esports and FPS. Most games make you play a way and if you suck tough shit, Overwatch gave me a way to be better. I suck at most DPS so I play tank and support. This system means you feel good no matter what and I approve. 2. Persona 5: weirdly this game got better with Trump winning as the themes suddenly got more relevant. While there were a few story issues I hope get corrected in the inevitable rerelease, the game is amazing otherwise. Best turn based combat (to the point going back to Persona 3 was a pain) amazing characters and story, perfect dungeon design, and of course the street art style. This game is uniquely it’s own separating it from its predecessors. 2. Tying is Xenoblade: now this world and setting was truly it’s own unique. How many games are on the backs of gods? The world and story and characters is unique and amazing plus it game at a time when being atheist wasn’t as accepted so a game like it helped me a lot. 1. Breath of the Wild: while all these games have elements from other one’s, this one doesn’t. No game is this open, this free, this beautiful. While there are a lot of issues including climb speed, its an experience like no other and my favorite game ever. @hypdadaist @bitrockshooter
Time to bring back a finely aged meme...
“CONGAAAAA!” on the payload! 8D
And of course Reinhardt has to be the “tank engine” of this little “train”...

I just finished Bastion in normal mode ...there are alternate endings ...and my save file, when I load it, starts from just before the final level ...guess I'm going to be playing again and getting the other endings
and then afterwards, I have to play New Game Plus and Score Attack Mode just because.

I dig my hole, you build a wall…
I dig my hole, you build a wall... Someday that wall is gonna fall... So build~ that~ wall~ and~ build~ it~ tall~
I want the soundtrack for Bastion.
EDIT: I can't remember if the last line's actually supposed to be "build it tall" or if it's "build it strong" followed by "cuz we'll be there before too long"
