Vintage postcard of a bat emblem blazing in the nighttime sky behind the legendary Lorelei Rock, in the Rhine Gorge, Germany.
The neaby town of Sankt Goarshausen had long claimed that America’s Bat-Man had familial roots in the small Rhine River seaport, and illuminated the bat-signal not as an alert, but a tribute to its favorite son.
When asked about his family’s connection to the Rhineland fishing town of 1,500 inhabitants, the Bat-Man just smiled and said, “Whatever,” in that super-sexy way that he has you know what I’m talking about.
