!!!!LANCE VLD2 SPOILERS!!!!

My boy deserved better. ;; 

I’m just. How can you take a character like Lance and give him two major scenes of development but don’t even do anything about his discoveries? Like holy shit, sharpshooter!Lance! He manages to get in the shooting mindset and frees Slav at the last moment, leaving the Galra and his Yupper without their prisoner. 

And even before that, his sonic cannon while freeing a whole planet with Hunk-- how is that not impressive? Pidge was in a garbage dump, Keith and Shiro were in a desolate planet with monsters but-- Lance and Hunk freed an entire civilization, with just the two of them! They saved people! Freed them from the mind control of a sea monster! But it means little to nothing compared to the others? ;; 

Lance got an upgrade and he proved that his shooting isn’t mindless, that there was a reason his bayard took the ship of a light-weight gun. That he isn’t just a bad shot and that he’s actually pretty useful in battles.

He even touched on his insecurities himself. He was nothing but praise for the other Paladins but when he thought of himself, he questioned what his worth was. Why they even keep him around when he hasn’t really proven himself. You can’t just touch on that and then resolve it in a matter of seconds? Yeah, the others’ compliments definitely boosted his ego but you can’t get rid of deep-rooted insecurities just like that. Especially since this seems like it wasn’t even the first time Lance thought of his worth as a Paladin. 

Hunk wanted to quit, and so did Pidge, but Lance probably never even thought of it. Because he’s a Paladin, it was probably the only thing he could really do to prove himself worthy of being on a team not being a fuck up. Because remember, he only made fighter pilot because Keith dropped out. And even then, he got scolded for his over-confidence in the mission which ultimately got them to fail. 

He’s probably dealt with that a lot, especially at the Garrison. So not seeing him get the praise he deserves from the others despite his accomplishments probably does affect his confidence, which is why he’s so in-your-face all the time.

Lance deserves better than his stupid flirty, over-confident personality. He’s so much more than that. ;; Remember when he cried thinking about Home? He definitely misses Earth but he knows he can’t go back until they finish their mission to protect the universe and rid it of Zarkon and the Galras’ rule.

He got so much potential in this season but they didn’t even touch on it much because it was so Keith-centric -- but even that didn’t have much to go off of, lol.

I switched from hardcore loving Lance but now that I’m paying more attention to everyone else, I love minor characters a lot more, lol. Like I absolutely adore Lance but the way they right him recently just makes me dislike how he’s written. I love my minor characters because they’re only there for a short period of time but at least the VLD writers don’t get to screw them up even further.

When you ship Lance with Pidge and Lance with Matt, so you ot3 it but then you realize people might think you’re shipping incest if you use any of the standard tags even though you headcanon Pidge and Matt as twins who are both romantically invested in Lance while all three of them are asexual or sex-repulsed.

I hate the stigma against being multi-fandom. 

I hate that people make you feel guilty for enjoying more than one thing by questioning your loyalty to said thing. As if you can’t enjoy more than one thing at a time. Like? 

Is it really any of your fucking business if people decide to like more than one thing at a time? Why are you policing people’s interests, as if you have any right to do that?
