bath is black - marika hackman
(Marika Hackman)
So just pass me the soap And I will scrub so hard to have the hope That one day I'll be free And flies won't follow me Cause if the bath is black and the soap is old You're turning the hot tap but the water is cold Try as you might everything you've done has been washed out

So Marika Hackman describes what she does as “I write sad songs” and I think that’s really all there is to say. She’s good at what she does.
Not kidding, I’ve been looping this song for the past 3 days. I have approximately 250 listens of this song which is approximately 13 hours in 3 days. The rhyme scheme and song pattern are simple, so that’s not the whole reason why I’ve been looping this over and over again. I think it’s basically become pleasant background noise to me, semantic satiation. And I am not complaining
PS: Fun fact, when she was young, she made a fun pop cover band with Cara Delevingne called The Cranberries and I thought it was interesting.
