tw // gore mention, death mention
there was a silent scream that filtered through momo’s body. for what felt like ages, the faery couldn’t process what had just happened. the king, the man who had issued their capture, was slain right before them. a part of her wanted to cry at the sight of the carnage before her. his mangled body crumpled to the floor: skull split open haphazardly and the gaping wound in his just spilling out a comfortable pool of blood.
despite the relief of her captor being dead, there was something chilling about seeing the light leave someone’s eyes.
for a while she couldn’t take her eyes off of his corpse. his face stuck in initial surprise of being struck through the chest. the side of his face that pressed against the floor was covered in blood. it looked oddly creamy in the water, bubbling about and mixing with the movement of the room. blood was similar density to water from what momo read so it looked like it was mixing with the water rather than pooling as its own separate liquid.
the rebellion was there, collecting people to take with them. the soldiers seemed to spring into action as well, as if they were suddenly free of fear without the king breathing down their necks. momo only whimpered, backing up and away from everyone else. she stumbles over something -- or someone -- and she’s scared to see someone who is dead already. instead she looks to see the boy from the magic shop.
“you were taken too?” she asks, her voice too tight. she’s shaking although she’s unsure how well it could be perceived in the water. species be damned, namjoon was a face of familiarity. she grabbed onto his arm and clung to his side immediately. even if he was just a human, he was better than panicking alone in the corner. “i...i don’t know what to do.”
