So if you haven’t seen BATIM chapter 5 yet, then don’t look below, but if you have, congrats! Continue reading!
So, I watched the stream squigglydigg was hosting with two other pal’s a their’s so my knowledge of replaying the game with the ‘fancy magnifyin’ glass’ is lacking the replay of the game. And since my computer is too shit to actually play it, I’m simply going to analyze my thoughts on the game itself.
The ending altogether looked GREAT, the mechanic’s were neat, there weren’t too many glitches, there was however a LOT of dying, but the game was kind enough to start you off exactly where you last left off with what-ever you’d already messed with in place.
However, the plot, was lackluster. We see that indeed Joey did managed to conjure up a demon into the studio. And that it had been terrorizing everyone and making a mess of things, but then once we ‘defeat it’ we see the other ending.
The ending with Joey revealing himself in a house that strangely feels like Henry’s, and yet, Joey’s the one there doing the dishes. Not to mention all the letters on the wall are made out to Henry as well. So my question is, what the hell Joey?
I think, that maybe Henry had indeed been dreaming all this up, and that Joey came to him in a dream ‘ie the final scene in ‘Henry’s house’
We see the ink machine all small in another room in one of the other shorts, a little kid talking calling Joey their Uncle. “Tell me another one uncle Joey”
And we’re left all alone after that, left to ponder what happened.
Now my main theory is;
I think that maybe, that letter had been left untouched for sometime, and when Henry finally DID decide to go to the old workshop, it wasn’t by his own accord. It was due to having a lucid dream, of Joey’s soul visiting him. Those drawings were probably visions of Henry’s future (some probably either not coming true or having of already happened without him there) And perhaps the letters were probably what Henry thought had happened to others who all once worked there. Having of moved on to somewhere else.
But there’s still the issue of the child talking in the second clip. That one I’m not sure of how to explain. Aside from maybe Joey was the one who had been making the whole story up for their grandkid, and was using Henry as the protag to the story. (But that wouldn’t make much sense given the fact of how egotistical Joey is from what we heard in his previous recordings would it?)
There’s still so many questions left unanswered, but I’m hoping the Meatly will answer some in a Q/A later on when they decide we’re ready.
Otherwise, I’mma go and try to draw some of this stuff up. Because I’m more interested in this fandom than I’ve ever been lately and I REALLY wanna rp some good stuff with it now. XD
