I tried making battenburg cake for the first time today, to get in the mood for the new series of Bake Off. Turned out a bit crumbly and uneven but it tastes great and was a lot of fun to make.

I used this recipe but made my own marzipan. I had a jar of a Christmassy jam lying around - cranberry, raspberry and cinnamon - so I used some spices and fruit flavours in the sponge to tie in with that.

Introducing Battenberg(Or Battenburg if you prefer that spelling),

A lover of pastel, pinks & yellows and oversized cardigans.

Inspired by one of my favourite cakes and even more inspired  by @crimson-chains The Bois series (if you aren’t following her go follow her right now).

I absolutely love your introduction pictures of the sweet and thirsty Boys so I decided to make the first picture of my boy based on them because damn its so neat and smart!!

I plan to make a Thirsty boy to go with this sweet cake boyo hopefully It won’t take me as long to draw
