Shin looking hot out here with his new title! 😍
Scaaaaaaaaned. Wheeee! There's that crazy gang of crazy peeps!
Left to right, Magnetman (Arthur McAdams, only human in the group, stealing Max's wallet as vengeance for when Max stole his and used it at a stripe club), Cannon (with an armadillo he probably stole from a zoo), KC (Knight of Canada, she's enjoying the shenanigans and mischief), Max(imum Overdrive, having much concern about the armadillo), Batteryman (crazy mechaniloid turned reploid who doesn't understand personal boundries), and Hayate the Ronin (one of the few animal reploids who didn't go maverick and has very strict personal boundries), along with Bubbles the Rayjet in the back.
The group name X-Forked was a random spurt idea, but I actually do have a story reason for it (short version, it's a typo lol), and Flaming Hamster Comics is the joke name me and Adam made for our "publishing company" (which basically consisted of me and Adam lol).
Magnetman, Cannon and Batteryman belong to Adam, rest of the characters are alllll mine.
Batteryman Solar
FLOD-JP027 太陽電池メン Taiyou Denchiman (Solar Batteryman) Level 4 LIGHT Thunder Effect Monster ATK 1500 DEF 1500 You can only use each effect [among the (1)st, (2)nd, and (3)rd effects] with this card’s name once per turn. (1) If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can send 1 Thunder monster from your Deck to the GY. (2) If another Thunder monster is Normal or Special Summoned while this card is already in a Monster Zone: Special Summon 1 “Batteryman Token” (Thunder/LIGHT/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0). (3) You can target 1 “Batteryman” Effect Monster on your field or in your GY; until the End Phase, this card’s name becomes that card’s name.
Batteryman Charger ———————————————— When this card is Normal Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 "Batteryman" monster, except "Batteryman Charger", from your hand or Deck. This card gains 300 ATK and DEF for each Thunder-Type monster you control. ———————————————— Can Be Found In: Light of Destruction (LODT-EN030)
Batteryman is an archetype highly focused on OTK setups. While that might not seem impressive due the nature of the card game, Batteryman can easily achieve both swarming mechanics while also gathering several powerful creatures to finish off the opponent as soon as possible. Combining summoning methods to keep momentum from early to late game, as well some extra options coming from their Type, is overall a dangerous build as has very easy methods to deal clean damage against their opponents.
"Batteryman Charger" is an important member for the archetype as takes the role of both offense and support in their game plan. When Normal Summoned, "Charger" will Special Summon a Batteryman from either our hand or Deck, easily compensating the almost needed Tribute Summon for its arrival as well letting us setup the field with the right monsters. While "Charger" default aren't outstanding for a high Level monster is easily fixed with its second effect, gaining 300 ATK and DEF for each Thunder in our field including itself. So with "Charger" and the summoned Batteryman will become a 2400 ATK to stand out against most enemies, but this monster provides more uses than just becoming stronger with its own abilities.
"Charger" might seem one of the slowest members as requires to be Normal Summoned to obtain all its benefits, but is not that difficult to achieve. With the help of "Batteryman 9-Volt" in our first turns we can obtain "Charger" in our hand to be summoned when the time comes. There are very easy ways to assure a material to Tribute Summon, going from "Batteryman Micro-Cell" assuring we have a Batteryman after the opponent's turn to a more immediate material with the help of "Instant Fusion". Batteryman offers solid revival effects thanks to "Battery Charger" and "Portable Battery Pack", allowing us to constantly recycle monsters for their own setups as well the summon of "Charger". To make things even easier, "The Monarchs Stormforth" allow us to tribute an opponent's monster to summon this Batteryman, getting rid of any possible threats in the process to ease our OTK goals arround this archetype.
"Charger" has all the opportunities to either become one of the strongest monsters on the field, and/or become a combo card thanks to its Normal Summon effect. Nearly every Batteryman is available to be summoned by "Charger", going from the searcher "Batteryman 9-Volt" to obtain another Batteryman as doubles its stats, to other high Level members such as "Batteryman Fuel Cell". If we work arround "Inferno Reckless Summon" the arrival of "Charger" can lead us to an easy OTK, as we can summon "Batteryman AA" to follow with its other two copies and obtain three 3000 ATK monsters along "Charger" own stat boosts. Otherwise we can work to achieve the destructive effect of "Short Circuit", and since "Charger" compensates the monster we use for its Tribute Summon with a new Batteryman all we have left to do is to summon a third one to be able to use the Spell Card. The previously mentioned "Batteryman Fuel Cell" can Special Summon itself if we control atleast two Batterymen, becoming easy to gather along "Charger" and corner the opponent right from early game. Finally, although "Charger" has a primary role to be Normal Summoned, don't miss the opportunity to constantly revive it with cards like "Battery Charger" and "Portable Battery Pack" later on to either time its stat boosts at their peak and/or use it as material for other monsters including copies of itself.
"Batteryman Charger" can easily lead the setups the archetype requires to achieve their OTKs with its abilities. While unfortunately can become the slowest member as needs to be Normal Summoned for all its benefits, in return allow us to obtain a key Batteryman for the right situation. Many other cards can follow "Charger" effect to further strength our gameplay, from swarming outcomes thanks to "Inferno Reckless Summon" to taking full advantage of the removal effect from "Short Circuit". Obviously we cannot dismiss "Charger" stat boosts, as even if we summon a weak Batteryman by its effect we still gain both ATK and DEF so can confront the opponent on its own. "Charger" might be a bit setup dependant for its arrival, but the results that brings in return makes it really worth it.
Personal Rating: A
+ Summons a Batteryman from our hand or Deck when Normal Summoned + Gains ATK and DEF for each Thunder monster on our field + Well supported in both its summon as well working arround its effects
- Might be a slow card compared to most of the archetype as should be Normal Summoned
Here's some pics for you @leaveharmony !
Look at these silly dorks, ready for some shenanigans. Mostly considered done...get scanned later. Was fun! I can't remember the last time I really did a group pic, especially with so many characters!
